A root canal is an endodontic treatment that becomes necessary if the pulp and nerves of the tooth have been infected. Root canal therapy works to remove the infected area and eliminate the need of extraction.
Our dentists will carefully enter the infected tooth, remove the infected tissues and clean the tooth. The tooth will then be filled with a medication and capped with a dental crown that allows your tooth to appear and function like your natural teeth. The crown will be shaped to perfectly fit your mouth.
Tooth extraction is the only alternative to root canal therapy. Root canal therapy allows our dentists to save the root of your tooth where tooth extraction does not. We will always strive to preserve your natural teeth and a tooth extraction will be our last resort.
